How would you describe your shop's vibe?
Traditional shop with a mix of old school and new school.

What's your most popular cut at the moment?
Skin fades are definitely the most popular.

Tell us something we don't know about Uppercut Deluxe products?
They hold up great in the Shetland weather! Which is mainly just wind and rain oh and more wind and rain.

What's your favourite Uppercut Deluxe product?
I love the Deluxe Pomade I don't think it can be beaten. Great hold (which is absolutely needed up here!) or the Beard Balm.

Who is your favourite artist to spin in the shop?
How long is a piece of string?! We play loads of rockabilly and rhythm 'n' blues. Anything that grooves really which could be anything from of JD McPherson Pat Capocci Delta Bombers to Them Crooked Vultures Audioslave Gary Clark Jr. Just rock 'n' roll and everything in-between.

What's the best tip for someone visiting your area?
I'll say this in my best Shetland dialect - Take a warm gansey ind make sure du haes a toorie is weel.

Translation - "Take a warm jumper and make sure you have a hat as well."

What the best advice for your client before walking in?
Washed hair is always great clean hair = clean cut

Who is your biggest barbering influence?
Pat Capocci. Not just because he's an Uppercut, Ambassador. But he's a musician who plays rockabilly/rock'n'roll like myself. He gigs all over the world and still works as a barber. That's what I aspire to do. Music and barbering what's better than that?!

What is your favourite shop (other than your own)?
Smiths Barbers in East Boldon. I trained at SB Barbering Academy and that whole crew are fantastic Ryan Vikki Sarah Chris they are all great. The vibe in both the shop and the Academy is amazing.
