Matte Pomade is an all-rounder, formulated to give a medium hold with a natural matte finish.

Matte Pomade performs exceptionally well in a range of hair lengths and types. Matte Pomade has been designed to create a broad range of styles, both classic and modern.

Don't let the creamy appearance fool you, Matte Pomade really packs a punch once applied to your hair giving grip and hold to assist in achieving a great look that lasts.

This product is also water soluble so it can be washed out with ease. With a smell so good you'll almost want to eat it, this versatile product is a must have in your styling range.

Apply to dry hair that has been washed beforehand with Shampoo and Conditioner.


Start by working a small amount of pomade into dry palms and make sure to spread evenly across both hands. Apply a small amount to the fringe area using fingertips then work from the back of your head forwards making sure to spread the pomade evenly throughout your hair.

Using a comb from our Uppercut Deluxe Comb range, shape and define your style from root to tip, front to back. For extra hold or shine, build up layers of Matte Pomade as you go, before setting your style tight. Take a step back, and admire.

What is Matte Pomade?

Matte Pomade is a heavy cream pomade with an extreme mattifying effect. The product expertly balances water soluble and wax-based ingredients to create classic looks with a matte finish.

Matte Pomade contains soft, flexible waxes that are heat activated, combined with faster setting water soluble hold agents. This balance in formulation allows Matte Pomade to set slowly but grab quickly in the hair making it the perfect product for experienced barbers and rookie groomers alike.

The product contains gritty compounds that gently disrupt the cuticle layer. The result is a mattifying effect leaving hair looking completely dry and natural.

Conditioning and hydrating agents are used in Matte Pomade to ensure the hair isn't damaged. These ingredients are extremely helpful for thinner or finer hair, as they help to plump the hair cuticle.

Applying to dry hair is essential in achieving an extremely matte finish. For best results, style using a small amount of product, and add more as needed.

    Great daily driver

    Love the green tin Matte Pomade from Uppercut; been my daily driver for several years now. Absolutely love the aroma (a warm and pleasant “butterscotch” / caramel latte scent) and the finish is exactly what I enjoy most — low shine, no stiffness a decent hold. A perfect product for some heavy texturising without any of the downsides of “cheap” pomades (residue, pastiness, unpleasant smell). The product remains fresh and moist in the tin without any special care (unlike others that dry out and become unmanageable too quickly when exposed even briefly to air). For these reasons, I obsess over this Uppercut tin. The packaging was generous (awesome free canvas gift bag and product brochure), and the delivery was speedy (they’re local)! Next up to try for me in the Uppercut lineup is the white tin, for a firmer hold on a slick-back style (I’m currently getting away with the green tin as a “base layer” under some extra-hold gel - hoping I can combine the two with a single Uppercut pomade in the future).
